How it All Started
When you take a leap of faith, you may find a beautiful surprise waiting for you...
For years, I worked in corporate America doing design work that helped customers and supported “big-picture” goals. On paper, it made sense. But deep down, something about it didn’t feel fully aligned. I knew I was using my gifts, but I didn’t always feel like I was using them in a way that felt purposeful.
And if I’m being honest, the corporate environment was not always the best. There were times when I felt stretched, unappreciated, and a deep desire for something different.
At the same time, I was always freelancing on the side. Designing websites. Helping people bring their ideas to life. Saying “yes” to creative projects after work, on weekends, and probably during hours when I should have been resting.
But going all in? By myself? That felt scary.
I questioned if I was ready. I questioned if I could really build something sustainable. I questioned if I had what it took to leave what was familiar and trust God with something new.
Over time, though, the pull became harder to ignore.
I realized I didn’t just want to be a corporate girlie or a freelance web designer. I wanted to create beautiful online spaces for women who are answering the call, stepping into their purpose, and building businesses with God at the center.
That’s why Valene Ashia exists today.
Not just to create pretty websites, but to help women feel supported & equipped as they build what they’ve been called to create. Because I know how it feels to have a vision in your heart, while being overwhelmed by what it will take to make it a reality.
